The Gathering
1.Each leader will take turns starting the Gathering. It will cycle through all the Clans
in no particular order to account for people who might be busy or slightly inactive at
the time who would not be able to post the Gathering on time. Ravenstar(admin) will
announce who will start the thread each time we’re ready to have a Gathering.
2.As their first post leaders will make a list of every cat from their clan invited to the
gathering. It should include no more than half (or just over half) of the Clan’s
warriors and apprentices (the other half being left behind to guard the camp). You
should also take into consideration the activity levels of the people you are inviting
and if given the option, should not invite a bunch of characters played by the same
person and should vary the characters so that more people will be able to participate
rather than just a select few with every single one of their cats. Other than warriors
and apprentices, elders and non-pregnant or nursing queens can be invited, and the
deputy, medicine cat, and medicine cat apprentice are always expected to attend (unless
they sick/injured or caring for very sick/injured cats). Kits may absolutely not attend.
3.Leaders will post their Clan arriving in their first posts. If a leader is inactive/does
not post in a timely fashion it will be said that they are ill and the deputy will be
able to lead the Clan instead. NO ONE may post their cat at the Gathering until that
cat’s leader or deputy has posted the Clan’s arrival and cats not on the Leader’s
invited list cannot be played at a Gathering. Medicine cats cannot lead their Clan to a
Gathering. If the leader and deputy are both unable to lead, the Clan will not attend
the Gathering.
4.Typically the oldest/longest ‘ruling’ leader calls the Gathering to a start, but a new
leader might be given the honor at their first Gathering as a leader. Unless in a rush
leaders should allow for a bit of mingling between the Clans before officially starting
the Gathering and giving their reports.
5.Any physical fighting that breaks out at a Gathering MAY subject the Gathering to being
cut short by StarClan covering the moon to show their anger. Just a warning.
6.There is no post order, but try not to run away with the whole thread. After the leaders
call the Gathering to a start, all side chatter should subside to a minimum while they
speak. After they are finished there will be a little bit of time for cats to say
goodbye to friends from other Clans, but the Gathering should end fairly quickly after
the leaders finish speaking. The Gathering thread will only remain open a maximum of a
week after the leaders have given their reports. Other Clan cats may interrupt a leader
if they have a question or want to make a remark. Refrain from interrupting the
Gathering more than once.
7. Leaders should keep in mind the many possible things that can be announced at a
Gathering: new kits/apprentices/warriors, changes in high ranks such as new
leader/deputy/medicine cat, dangers that have been faced and overcome, warnings to
other Clans (such as if a Clan chased a fox or badger or other danger into another
Clan’s territory recently), challenges to other Clans if prey-stealing or some other
offense is suspected, etc.
